Privacy Policy
Momomoon (Momo Labs, Inc.) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect across the Momomoon app and momomoon.ai, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who We Are#
Momomoon is operated by Momo Labs, Inc. ("Momomoon," "we," "our," or "us"), the data controller responsible for the information described in this policy.
This policy covers both the Momomoon mobile app (iOS and the companion Apple Watch app) and our website at momomoon.ai. Momomoon is a stress-intervention product: it reads biometric signals, helps you understand them, and lets you talk things through with Momo, our AI assistant.
2. The Data We Collect#
Depending on which features you use, we collect:
- Account details — your email address and the name you give Momo.
- Health and biometric context — derived summaries from Apple Health, such as heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, sleep, and step count. Raw HealthKit samples stay on your device; we only ever use derived summaries.
- Calendar context — when you connect your calendar, event titles, times, and calendar names from roughly three days before and after today.
- Location — your city name only, derived on your device. We do not collect or store your GPS coordinates.
- Chat and voice content — the messages you send Momo, and, during a voice call, your microphone audio and the resulting transcript.
- Drawings and photos — images you choose to analyze with Lens 01.
- Profile and memories — stress triggers, coping preferences, communication style, and other details Momo learns over time to personalize its responses.
- Usage and diagnostics — product events (for example, that a reset started), crash reports, and performance data.
- Payment information — only if you purchase on the web, your payment card (handled by Stripe) and email.
3. How We Collect It#
- Directly from you — when you create an account, type or speak to Momo, connect Apple Health or your calendar, or share a drawing or photo.
- On your device — Apple Health, Calendar, and Location data are read through Apple frameworks (HealthKit, EventKit, Core Location). Raw data stays on the device; only derived summaries or a city name are sent onward.
- Automatically — usage events, crash reports, and performance data are collected as you use the app and website.
- From service providers acting on our behalf — the processors listed below, who handle data only to provide their service to us.
4. How We Use Your Data#
We use your data to:
- Power Momo’s chat and voice responses and tailor them to your context.
- Detect signs of stress and deliver timely interventions.
- Remember what matters to you so Momo stays useful over time.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the product.
- Communicate with you and process purchases.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the processors described below, and only so they can provide their service to us.
5. AI Providers#
Momo’s intelligence comes from AI services we contract with as our processors. When you use the relevant features, data is sent to them as described here. None of these providers use your data to train their AI models.
Anthropic (Claude)
Powers Momo’s chat responses and analyzes drawings or photos you share with Lens 01. Receives: your chat messages and history; calendar events; health summaries (sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, steps); your city and local time; your name and profile; saved memories; and Lens 01 images. Anthropic processes these under its commercial API terms and does not retain content beyond standard logging periods. Not used to train Anthropic’s models.
OpenAI
Generates semantic "embeddings" from the text of your messages so Momo can recall what you’ve talked about before. Processed under OpenAI’s commercial API terms. Not used to train OpenAI’s models.
ElevenLabs
Powers Momo’s voice calls, including real-time speech recognition and synthesis of Momo’s spoken responses. See the Voice Calls section below for exactly what is sent and how long it is kept. Not used to train models or to clone voices.
6. Voice Calls#
When you make a voice call with Momo, your microphone audio is sent directly from your device to ElevenLabs over an encrypted connection. ElevenLabs processes that audio in real time to understand what you’re saying and to generate Momo’s voice. Along with the audio, we send your name and language and a short summary of recent context (calendar, health, city) so Momo can respond meaningfully.
Your call audio is not stored — not by ElevenLabs and not by us. ElevenLabs retains a text transcript of the call for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted. We also store the transcript on our servers (Supabase) for as long as your account is active. Your voice is not used to clone voices or train AI models.
7. Apple Health (HealthKit)#
When you connect Apple Health, Momomoon reads selected data — including heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep, and step count — directly through Apple’s HealthKit framework. Raw HealthKit samples stay on your device. We send only derived summaries (for example, "sleep hours last night" or "average HRV today") to our backend and to the AI providers that power Momo’s responses.
8. Analytics and Crash Reporting#
PostHog receives anonymous event data about how you use the app — for example, that a reset started, or that you opened the chat — but never the content of your messages or your biometric readings.
Sentry receives crash data and performance traces. To diagnose hard-to-reproduce issues, Sentry records short replays of 10% of randomly-sampled sessions, plus 100% of sessions where an error occurs.
On our marketing website (momomoon.ai), we also use Google Analytics, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and Microsoft Clarity to understand site usage and measure marketing. These website tools are not attached to your biometric data, and we do not sell your personal information.
9. Storage and Other Providers#
Supabase
Stores your account and sign-in details, chat history, voice-call transcripts, biometric context, profile, and memories. Data is kept for as long as your account is active.
Stripe
Processes web purchases only. If you buy on the web, Stripe handles your payment card directly (it never touches our servers) along with your email. Stripe is not used inside the iOS app.
10. How Long We Keep It#
- Account data, chat history, transcripts, profile, and memories: kept while your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account.
- Voice-call audio: never stored. ElevenLabs transcripts: up to 30 days. Our copy of the transcript: while your account is active.
- AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI): content is not retained beyond standard logging under their commercial API terms.
- Analytics and diagnostics (PostHog, Sentry): retained per each provider’s standard retention periods.
11. Your Rights and Choices#
You can:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Delete — request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw AI consent — in the app, under Data & Ethics. Because Momo cannot function without processing your data, withdrawing consent signs you out and stops processing; your account remains until you delete it.
- Control permissions — turn Apple Health, Calendar, Notifications, Microphone, and Location access on or off at any time in iOS Settings.
- Unsubscribe from emails, and disable cookies in your browser.
To exercise any of these, contact us at support@momomoon.ai.
12. International Transfers#
Our processors (Anthropic, OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Supabase, PostHog, Sentry, and Stripe) are US-based, and data is processed in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by the data processing agreements and standard contractual clauses we maintain with these providers.
13. Children's Privacy#
Momomoon is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to This Policy#
We may update this Privacy Policy as Momomoon evolves. Material changes to how we handle your data will be reflected here with a revised date, and — where required — through a renewed in-app consent prompt.
